Advanced Vitamin A for Sensitive Skin, Fine Lines, Firmness and Skin Longevity

If you want the benefits of a powerful Vitamin A but your skin struggles with traditional retinol or exfoliating acids, Osmosis Renew MD is one of my favorite alternatives. Renew MD uses 0.165% retinaldehyde, an advanced form of Vitamin A, along with peptides, niacinamide, antioxidants, and skin supportive ingredients to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, firmness, texture, and overall skin quality.

I especially love this for someone who wants to support collagen and healthy aging but finds the combination of Vitamin A and AHAs in some of my other favorite retinoids a little too much for their skin.

Why Retinaldehyde?

Not all Vitamin A is the same. Retinaldehyde sits one conversion step away from retinoic acid:

Retinol → Retinaldehyde → Retinoic Acid

This makes retinaldehyde a really interesting option when we want an effective Vitamin A while still being thoughtful about sensitive or reactive skin. Renew MD also uses a liposomal delivery system and combines retinaldehyde with ingredients like niacinamide, peptides, ectoin, beta glucan, sodium hyaluronate, and antioxidants. So we're not just focusing on renewal. We're supporting the skin at the same time.

Why I Recommend It

I love Renew MD for sensitive or reactive skin, dryness, fine lines and wrinkles, loss of firmness, uneven texture, collagen support, healthy aging, and anyone who has struggled to tolerate traditional retinol or the added AHAs found in AlphaRet Overnight Cream.

Where Does Renew MD Fit in Our Retinoids?

We carry several different Vitamin A derivatives because there isn't one perfect retinoid for every skin. My general guide from gentlest to most intensive is:

FactorFive Retinol → Skinbetter AlphaRet Clearing Serum → Osmosis Renew MD → Skinbetter AlphaRet Overnight Cream → Skinbetter Intensive AlphaRet Overnight Cream

But here's the most important thing I want you to remember: stronger does not automatically mean better.

The best Vitamin A is the one your skin can tolerate consistently. I would much rather have you use a gentler formula four or five nights a week than use the strongest product once, irritate your barrier, stop for two weeks, and start the entire process over again.

Consistency wins every time.

How to Use

Use at night as your last treatment serum before moisturizer. If you're new to Renew MD, start every other night and give your skin time to adjust. If your skin is happy, gradually work toward nightly use.

Cleanse → Plated® → SIV → Treatment Serums → Renew MD → Moisturizer

If using Plated®, apply it first to completely dry skin and allow it to sit for five full minutes. If using SIV, apply it next and allow it to dry completely for approximately 60 to 90 seconds. Renew MD goes toward the end of your routine as your last serum before moisturizer. Always wear broad spectrum SPF during the day.

Katarina's Honest Take

I love this for the person who tells me, "I know Vitamin A is important, but my skin just can't handle retinol."

Sometimes the answer isn't giving up on Vitamin A. It's finding a different Vitamin A derivative and formulation that actually works for your skin.

Your skin does not need to peel, flake, burn, or feel irritated for a retinoid to be working, and you do not need to graduate to the strongest retinoid on the shelf. If Renew MD is the Vitamin A your skin loves and you can use it consistently, that's your perfect strength.

Start every other night and slowly increase your frequency until you find your sweet spot. That may eventually be every night, or it may not be.

The goal isn't to use the strongest Vitamin A. The goal is to find the one you can use consistently enough to actually see the benefits. Healthy skin is a long game, and consistency will always matter more than intensity.
